Most of us know that MSA meetings are a great way for students to develop collaborations, gain insight on methods, and seek out job opportunities, and one of the most fun ways to stay engaged in the mycological community and see where research in the field is moving. But we also know that a student’s first MSA meeting can feel a bit daunting! So, the MSA Student Section has put together a comprehensive guide full of tips for navigating different parts of the meeting, as well as descriptions of what to expect so first-timers can get the most out of it! The guide covers pre-conference planning, such as how to prepare an elevator speech, what to wear, and how to make a great poster. We’ve also outlined the basic structure of different parts of the meeting, such as the poster session and the foray, so students can feel confident and prepared. We hope you find it useful!
